Senior Patent Attorney/Of Counsel/Principal

JIPL seeks a senior patent attorney having a Ph.D or M.S. in biochemistry, chemistry, or chemical engineering. Successful candidates should reside in the DC Metro area (DC/MD/VA), be registered to practice before the USPTO, and have at least eight years experience in patent preparation, prosecution, and opinion drafting. Candidates having significant original patent application drafting in the fields of vaccines, antibodies, small molecules, food technology, or consumer products may qualify to telecommute from outside of the DC Metro area.

Senior Patent Attorney/Of Counsel/Principal

JIPL seeks a senior patent attorney having a Ph.D, M.S., or B.S. in electrical engineering, computer science, computer/software engineering, or physics. Successful candidates should reside in the DC Metro area (DC/MD/VA), be registered to practice before the USPTO, and have at least eight years experience in patent preparation, prosecution, and opinion drafting. Candidates having original patent application drafting experience a plus. Candidates having portable business may qualify to telecommute from outside of the DC Metro area.

IP Administrator (Entry to Mid-Level)

JIPL seeks an entry to mid-level (having 0-5 years relevant experience) intellectual property administrator/secretary to work in its North Silver Spring office. The IP Administrator/Secretary will work closely with attorneys, and be responsible for supporting patent prosecution. Individuals having exceptional customer service, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects would be a great match.

Daily duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparing/filing U.S. and International Patent Applications
  • Preparing client correspondence
  • Maintaining patent docket

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS 365).
